Explore the Cilento.

South of Salerno - in the province of the same name - lies an even less known spot of Italy. The National Park Cilento - since 1998 UNESCO World Heritage Site - is known for its extremely good Mediterranean cuisine and is also known in Italy as the place of the 100 year old, as people there get very old. What is the reason for this?

It is certainly due to the self-harvested olive oil, the very fish-focused cuisine and the many fresh fruits and vegetables. Of course, the relaxed way of life and the sea right in front of your nose also play a significant role. Feel into the everyday life of a Cilentan and relax on a warm summer day on the great beaches with crystal clear water like Palinuro or Camerota. Enjoy fresh vegetables, pasta or freshly caught fish on your plate while you look at the sea and listen to the lively conversations of the locals.

Hikes through the woods to waterfalls and refreshing lakes, boat trips along the coast or the immersion in thousands of years of history in famous excavations are also part of a visit to the region. However, if you prefer to spend a relaxing day by the sea, you are of course welcome to do so.

Positano
Discover the most beautiful coastal road in the world

Even if the Cilento is one of the most beautiful places in the world for me, a trip along the Amalfi Coast is not to be missed during a trip through Campania. So that we can do this completely relaxed, we spend one night in Positano - probably the most picturesque place in Italy, if not in Europe. Usually known as the vacation spot of the JetSet, I would still like to share this view from our balconies with you. When the day tourists slowly leave the place, we enjoy the picturesque sunset and toast to this unique time.

If you are an early riser, enjoy a refreshing swim on the beach of Positano before it gets crowded.

Finish your journey in the port city of Salerno

After 9 days in the Cilento and on the Amalfi Coast, we end our journey in the city of 130,000 inhabitants on the Gulf of Salerno with its eponymous name, with walks along the promenade - the Lungomare -, strolling through the old town and good food at every corner.

Let us toast to a great time together, new friendships and many unforgettable memories, which will always bring us back to the dolce vita of Campania in our daily lives.
